Indianapolis 500 is the most famous car race in the world, held with short breaks since 1911. A game by Papyrus Design Group will let you sit behind the wheel of a car and see for yourself how great this event is. There are three cars to choose from, for each team: Lola/Buick, March/Cosworth and Penske/Chevrolet. The decision is purely cosmetic, as cars have many common features in addition to their appearance. The game allows you to freely set up all the major components, so that each will adjust the car according to your needs (gear ratios, amount of fuel in the tank, etc.). We can race in four variants: 25 miles (10 laps), 75 miles (30 laps), 150 miles (60 laps) and the most murderous 500 miles, translating into two hundred laps. Before the start of the race you can practice in Practice mode and pass the qualifications, which determine our position at the start of the race. Programmers from Papirus Design Group tried to render as faithfully as possible the control of the car and the course of the race itself. There is unimaginable chaos on the track, our opponents drive the road, which can end tragically for the driver at huge speeds. It is extremely important that the components are set correctly and that the boxing area is set up correctly, especially during long races. In Indianapolis 500 it is very easy to cause a crash, so you have to control the events all the time and not make school mistakes, for example, related to rubbing against a gang of track. The game offers a decent visual setting, based on vector graphics, with three-dimensional but extremely simple to build enemy cars. For enthusiasts there is an extensive system of repetitions, several camera settings and the possibility of saving more interesting shots to disk. At the top of the screen you can still see extremely rich statistics, which can be switched using the function keys. To sum up, Indianapolis 500 is an extremely interesting simulation and will surely bring to the monitor for a long time all fans of a realistic approach to the subject of car racing.
