MechanicsHonkai: Star Rail is a strategy RPG, thus its gameplay revolves around turn-based combat. The player commands a party of heroes chosen from the ship's crew. Each character has unique stats, weaponry and skills. They can all be upgraded with experience gained while adventuring. Apart from battles, players explore space, learn the characters' backstories and complete quests. There are also expansive dungeons, beating which is required to progress through the main story.
