Shikhondo: Soul Eater is a typical representative of the genre of arcade shooters, prepared by the Korean developers at DeerFarm. The game was developed, among other things, thanks to the fascination with a series of similar games that has been appearing in Japan for many years, the Tohou Project by the famous ZUN designer, programmer, graphic designer and composer in one. The game is a reinterpretation of the developer's first project called Tales of Other Eastern Yokai, which is a doujin game, a fan product created for non-commercial purposes. StoryIn the game there are two characters to choose from a girl and the Grim Reaper. The main characters' task is to catch demons that managed to escape from the limbo. Characters gain points by absorbing opponents' souls. The game's design is based entirely on Korean aesthetics, using folklore and mythology of this country. This is why characteristic creatures appear in the game, such as the tiger demon Chang-kwi a female boss in the second stage of the game hanging upwards from the mouth of the tiger. MechanicsShikhondo is a bullet hell shooter, where we deal with dozens of enemies while trying to navigate the main hero between the thousands of projectiles they shoot. The game requires us to remember the sequence of attacks and search for weak points at each stage of the boss fight. In the game, our main task, in addition to dealing with opponents, is to collect souls. Depending on our choices, we can collect them by being as close as possible to the projectiles aimed at our character or by attacking enemy units.
