Visions of Mana is the first new installment in an iconic jRPG series by Square Enix (Final Fantasy) in 15 years. The game was preceded by remakes of the previous installments, created by the publisher's subsidiaries, Xeen and Q Studios. It was supervised by Masaru Oyamada, just like the remakes. Every four years, an adventurer is chosen to go on a pilgrimage to the Tree. The latest pilgrim is a friend of the game's protagonist, Val. Becoming her guardian, they both set off on a long journey. MechanicsLike the previous installment, Visions of Mana makes use of the third-person perspective rather than top-down camera. Once again, it's an action RPG in which we control a group of heroes, using various weapons and magic. Combat is real-time, pitting us against numerous enemies and powerful bosses.
