Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is a combination of an adventure game, jRPG and a farming sim. Though the franchise originated in 1996, the game is the sixth major entry of the new series, developed by Natsume since 2014 after acquiring the rights to the franchise from Marvelous. PlotHarvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is set in a fantasy world of Anthos. Ten years ago, the realm suffered a cataclysmic volcano eruption. Though the Harvest Goddess and her spirits managed to save the people's lives, their settlements were cut off from each other. The player must travel across Anthos, discovering its numerous attractions and secrets. MechanicsThe gameplay of Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is shown from the third-person perspective (TPP). The game revolves around running a farm, that is, cultivating land, raising animals and preparing meals from acquired resources. In addition to livestock, such as sheep, cows and chickens, we can also adopt various pets such as cats, dogs, parrots and even wolves. If necessary, the eccentric Doc Jr. can transport our farm to a more suitable place. Too much work's not good for anyone, so in-between our duties we can explore Anthos. The land consists of beautiful plains and five vibrant settlements themed after different seasons. During our expeditions we can search for wild animals and Harvest Wisps, as well as meet the people of Anthos. We can also get to know the local ladies and bachelors in search of a potential love interest.
