Game description:
Buried in Ice is a first-person survival horror, which is the debut game of Liquid Engine Development studio. PlotBuried in Ice is obviously inspired by John Carpenter's film The Thing. During the adventure, the player takes on the role of Kurt the only survivor of a fire in a research base attacked by a mysterious monster somewhere in Antarctica. The group that rescued the protagonist suspects that it was him who caused the fire and killed the rest of the crew. However, it turns out that the creature, able to imitate the appearance of other living creatures, has also reached the rescue team's base. The player must gain the trust of the group and face the monster. MechanicsBuried in Ice combines three genres horror, survival and RPG. Gameplay is focused on exploring the base, taking care of your own needs, talking to NPCs and fighting the creature. The game offers complex survival mechanics. The base requires fuel to function properly. If the player forgets to refuel, the electricity and heating in the facility will stop working. In addition, basic needs such as hunger must also be cared for. Relations with the other inhabitants of the base play an important role in the game. At the beginning they are suspicious towards the player. With time, however, you can gradually build up mutual relations. This will later translate into more effective cooperation and increased chances of survival. The monster is instead extremely difficult to defeat it is immune to everything except fire. All heroes in the game also have an indicator that defines their mental health. If they are exposed to harmful conditions, it will start to decrease. A bad condition will cause characters to start having panic attacks or even attempt suicide. A crafting system was also implemented in Buried in Ice.
