Mesmer is a strategy game in which players take on the role of leaders of the revolution. The studio Rain Games (known from Teslagrad and World to the West) is responsible for its development and release. PlotThe action takes place in a universe prepared for the mentioned games. During the game, we find ourselves in Pardam, the capital of Mesmer. Under the current king, things are going wrong in the metropolis, and inequalities between the inhabitants are increasing. Society has become very divided and more and more people are already being treated badly. The players arrive in the city just before the outbreak of the revolution. MechanicsMesmer is a three-dimensional game in which the gameplay is observed from different perspectives (usually from top-down view or TPP). The player is leading the actions of the leader of one of the five factions that are against power, each with slightly different objectives. We will find noblemen, merchants, workers, artists and criminals among them. Gameplay boils down to exploring the city (we can do it on foot or by using vehicles including riding a pig) and performing a variety of tasks (we often have to sneak in, especially when we break the curfew ordered by the king). We are achieving certain objectives, and thus gaining the sympathy of society. We are collecting the necessary resources and getting the allies that we convince to our rights in the talks. We can also provoke revolts by stirring up people. At the same time, we must be on guard at all times, as the vigilant king will try to stop us from acting. In addition, it is important to remember about the other four factions, which, although they have different goals, try to achieve them in a similar way, so they can, for example, recruit a person who is important to us for their cause. It is worth noting that the choices made by the player during the game have an impact on the end of the story campaign. Game modesIn Mesmer we can only play alone. The core of the game is a feature campaign. Technical aspectsMesmer has a pleasant, three-dimensional graphic design.
