Undercrewed is a cooperative mix of strategy and simulation game modelled on the iconic FTL: Faster Than Light and Lovers in Dangerous Space Time. It is another project of David Strachan and Dex Cimino, for whom it was their debut on Steam. MechanicsUndercrewed combines gameplay from FTL: Faster Than Light with a co-op experience of Lovers in Dangerous Space Time, Barotrauama or We Need to Go Deeper. In the game we play the role of the last surviving members of the crew of a space ship, who cross the universe and undertake various tasks. After choosing a mission, we go to a location where enemy units are waiting for us. We must use the ship's systems such as shields, missiles and repair drones to fight them. The problem is that each of them must be operated from a separate room or even several, and the four-person crew is unable to fill all positions at once. Players must therefore navigate between the ship's rooms (shown in top down view) and coordinate their actions in such a way as to cope with the subsequent challenges. One of the attractions are rich personalization options. In the game we have a choice of many ship models, which differ in the number and layout of rooms and statistics. It is up to us to decide whether we prefer a stronger and more durable unit, or a weaker one, but allowing us to mount more useful modules. The latter is achieved by developing characters with the help of a technological tree, which enables us to perfect ourselves in the role of captain, engineer, specialist in shields and healing or weaponry. There is no rigid division into classes so that we can always change specialisations without losing the progress that has been made. Game modesUndercrewed enables us to play solo or with up to 4 other players. The devs did not separate the online mode from the local cooperation, which means that people playing on one screen and online can play together. Technical aspectsThe creators of Undercrewed wanted to create a title that would allow even the owners of older computers to have fun. Therefore, the game uses simple, but legible two-dimensional graphics and modest audio. In addition, the title enables us to play with both the keyboard and additional controllers.
