Game description:
The Last Oricru is an action RPG set in a universe that blends fantasy and science fiction elements. It was developed by GoldKnights, a Czech studio, and was published by Prime Matter. PlotThe Last Oricru takes us on a journey to the planet Vardenia, which is separated from the rest of the cosmos by a protective barrier. Although this world is not yet fully formed, it has already managed to become an arena of conflict between two feuding races of humanoid beings. We play a character called Silver, whose spaceship has crashed on Vardenia. After awakening in a cryogenic chamber, we quickly find ourselves in the midst of chaos. Our further fate, how we will be perceived by the individual inhabitants of the planet, as well as the course of the conflict (and, consequently, the future of the entire globe), will depend on the further actions of the character we direct. Game mechanicsIn The Last Oricru we observe the action from third person perspective (TPP). The driving force of the game are tasks pushing forward the plot, accompanied by various side missions. In completing them, we have to make morally ambiguous choices. Often it depends only on us whether we will deal with a given problem by shedding blood, or decide on a peaceful solution or try to approach the matter quietly, sneaking behind the enemies' backs. The adventure leads us through numerous locations, among which we'll find fortresses taken straight out of the Middle Ages, vast open airs and gloomy undergrounds. As Vardinia is full of dangers, we learn how to use weapons at the very beginning of the game. Depending on the chosen direction of character development, during skirmishes with enemies we can use different types of weapons, as well as shields and various items from the borderline of technology and magic. On the battlefield we have to show not only dexterity and reflexes (if only to block enemy blows in time and make quick counterattacks), but also patience (sometimes it's worth waiting with an attack for the right moment). In addition to regular opponents, who with a bit of inattention can also spoil a lot of blood (especially when we fight several at once), we encounter much stronger bosses on our way, the elimination of which often requires showing cunning and using unconventional solutions. The function of experience points here is performed by essence earned for defeating opponents and completing tasks. After advancing to the next level, we get the opportunity to develop one of the six character statistics, namely life, will, vigor, strength, dexterity and intellect. In addition, we increase the combat potential of the hero by acquiring more and more powerful equipment or by improving the equipment we already have. Unlike most other representatives of the genre, we will not experience a skill tree here. Game modes In The Last Oricru you can play alone or in split-screen co-op mode. Technical aspectsWhile the graphics of The Last Oricru, made in a gloomy style, look moderately good, the stiff animations evoking associations with the Gothic series are a bit dull.
