Crysis Remastered Trilogy is a set of cult first-person shooters from German studio Crytek. The set includes the 2020 Crysis Remastered, a remastered version of the first installment in the series, and the newly refreshed Crysis 2 and Crysis 3. The remasters were created by Saber Interactive, the studio responsible for the next-gen port of The Witcher 3. PlotThe action of the Crysis trilogy begins in the year 2020. North Korean military forces take control over Lingshan archipelago located on South China Sea. During the attack, a group of archaeologists are taken prisoner and discover advanced technology of unknown origin on the islands. An American special forces unit is sent to the islands on a rescue mission to save the archaeologists. However, it soon turns out that there is a conflict on the island between Korean soldiers and an aggressive alien race called the Cepids. Eventually, the Cepids launch an attack on Earth, intending to eliminate humanity. The player's task is to stop the invasion and save the world. Crysis 2 takes us from the forests of Korea to a completely different setting. Crysis 2 Remastered takes us to one of the world's largest metropolises New York City where we must battle hostile C.E.L.L. Corporation units and the monsters that threaten the planet. Crysis 3 Remastered takes us back to 2047, a world where we must fight for survival against both the C.E.L.L. and the Cepids. The Prophet discovers that a corporation has created a gigantic dome in New York City, under which there is an artificially generated micro-world. Our protagonist goes there to discover the truth about the corporation and take revenge for the events of the past. Game mechanicsCrysis games are first-person shooters focused on freedom of action. Campaigns are divided into missions that can be completed in a number of ways. The player almost always has several paths to the goal and a variety of tools to make the task easier. We can sneak past enemies, defeat them in an open shootout or use armoured vehicles. The weapon modification system also adds freedom. We can attach accessories to our weapons, which change their properties. These include sights, scopes, silencers, or guns and grenade launchers attached under the barrel. An element that adds depth to the gameplay is the nano-armour worn by the protagonists. This is highly advanced combat armour that enhances the skills of the equipped soldier. The nano-armour allows the player to hack enemy electronics, breathe underwater and scan the environment. Furthermore, depending on the game, it has several main modes that we can switch between. For example, camouflage mode allows us to be temporarily invisible, armour mode protects us from bullets, and strength mode reduces the recoil of the weapon and allows us to throw heavy objects. The second and third installments in the trilogy add some minor changes to the series. Crysis 2 makes battlefields more vertical, allowing you to climb and shoot your way through several different floors. More nanosuit functionalities have also been added. Crysis 3 introduces a futuristic composite bow equipped with different types of arrows, rapid-fire Typhoon machine gun and the powerful Heavy Mortar plasma cannon. Game modesCrysis Remastered Trilogy does not include the multiplayer modes found in the original releases. The set includes only the single player campaigns. Technical aspectsThe visual improvements to the trilogy are comparable to those included in Crysis Remastered. Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 received new models and textures. The bundle also got a resolution upgrade to 4K, ray tracing effects and many other improvements. The console versions allow you to choose the graphics mode.
