Granblue Fantasy Versus is a classic fighting game that has been set in the fantasy universe created for the extremely popular mobile RPG titled Granblue Fantasy. Developer of the title is the giant of the genre, Arc System Works, the studio responsible for the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue series, as well as Dragon Ball FighterZ released in 2018. Original Granblue Fantasy debuted in 2014 and was released by Cygames. Since then, the game has attracted several million players, mainly in Japan and East Asia, making it a recognizable brand with numerous adaptations in the form of anime series, books, comics, etc., as well as an action RPG, which was created by PlatinumGames. PlotJust like in the mobile original, the action of Granblue Fantasy Versus takes place in a fantasy world. It consists of hundreds of islands floating on a sea of clouds, between which people move in flying vessels. The main character of the game lives on a peaceful small island called Zinkenstill. Together with his friend, a little dragon named Vyrn, he sets out to look for his long-lost father, from whom he unexpectedly receives a letter. Soon he meets Lyria, a girl with a mysterious power to evoke legendary astral beasts. The production offers a completely new story, confronting the many heroes who have been presented in the mobile RPG. It is worth noting, however, that in order to have fun it is not necessary to know them. MechanicsGranblue Fantasy Versus is a classic 1v1 fighting game in which players control one of the many available characters, characterized by different fighting styles, special skills and combos. The action takes place in two-dimensions, but all models of the characters and their surroundings have been made in three dimensions. As with other Arc System Works games, developers have introduced optional facilities for beginners, simplifying combinations of buttons for special and complex moves. Game modesThe game offers several game modes. A big attraction is the story mode, enriched with animated cut-scenes and dialogues between the characters. In addition, we can count on the standard arcade mode and numerous options for multiplayer fun, both via the Internet and locally on a shared screen. Technical aspectsJust like the latest installments of Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ, the game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 technology.
