Time Machine VR is an action-adventure game developed for augmented reality sets in which the player goes back in time to the prehistoric age in order to examine the ancient ecosystem. The game was developed by independent studio Minority Media ? the creators of well received game Papo & Yo. The game is exclusively compatible with Oculus Rift virtual reality set. PlotThe story of the game starts in year 2033. The player assumes the role of a new employee of an extraordinary museum of natural history called Monda Muzeo that is located 250 miles underground. The museum that is a form of a testament of humanity gathers all information related to history of Earth. It uses the newest technologies for that purpose ? including time travel. The player?s objective is to create the most precise record of prehistory. If the mission success, the player will become the first man in history who encountered prehistoric animals in their natural habitat. MechanicsDuring this unusual trip to the Jurassic era the player will have special equipment that allows tracking and scanning the dinosaurs. During the game one will explore both large valleys and ocean deeps where one will try to get as close to the animals as possible in order to obtain the required data. As one can guess, each such action is very risky since the giant prehistoric creatures consider humans as a tasty snack. In addition to that, none of the examined creatures can be killed or hurt as it could change the natural course of history. The solution to that problem is the possibility to temporary stop time. By using it one can safely get close to the animal and perform the scanning. What?s worth mentioning, the action doesn?t always look the same. For example, during one of the missions the player must scan the mouth of a predator ? it means he must walk inside it. Technical aspectsIn comparison to first titles developed for VR sets that usually use simple graphics, Time Machine has high quality graphics that aren?t much worse than in traditional FPP games.
