Slay the Spire 2 is the second installment of a series of productions on the borderline of card games and roguelikes, launched in 2019. The title was developed by the authors of the first part of the series, namely the independent American studio Mega Crit. The plotThe action of Slay the Spire 2 takes place a thousand years after the events of the first installment of the series. The gates of the titular spire have been reopened, and daredevils from all over the world can once again cross its thresholds to face the dangers lurking in it and climb to the very top (or at least try to do so). MechanicsIn Slay the Spire 2 we take control of the characters, who traverse the floors of the spire, facing enemies and taking part in various, often unexpected events and encounters. All this to reach the top, where a clash with a powerful boss awaits them. The driving force of the game are skirmishes fought in turn-based mode. During them we watch the action from the side and play cards corresponding to various attacks and skills. Over time we expand our deck, gaining access to more and more diverse and powerful cards. At the same time we have to be careful, because death is permanent here, so if we fall on the battlefield, we have to start the whole journey over again. The matter is further complicated by the fact that at that time the layout of the rooms and the arrangement of adversaries change. The production puts at our disposal a wide range of characters representing certain archetypes, to which we gain access as we progress. Among the enemies we will find both the ones perfectly known from the "one", as well as completely new opponents.
