Cast of the Seven Godsends: Redux for PC, PS4 and XONE is a 2D platform game. The project was inspired by classic 8- and 16-bit platform games and coin-operated machines, and was developed by Raven Travel Studios, an independent Italian studio. The team was established in 2011, and its main objective is to create games that recreate the gameplay model known from the 80s and the 90s hits. Redux introduces better visuals and numerous fixes to the core game. PlotCast of the Seven Godsends: Redux takes the players to a traditional fantasy world. Zaraaima, an evil imperator, kidnaps the newlyborn of Darec, the king of the realm. To rescue his son, Darec has to embark on a journey through six disparate worlds to enlist the help of seven gods. During his travels, the king defeats hordes of monsters to finally stand face to face with the kidnapper. MechanicsThe game is a mix between a platform game and two-dimensional slasher. The authors prepared over 50 enemy models and twenty-four bosses. The enemies inhabit six different worlds divided into numerous levels. We traverse mountain tops, volcanoes, or grim swamps. The protagonist can use five weapons, 35 spells, and can utilize seven armors that endow him with different powers. The developers prepared four difficulty levels and a number of proper endings to the story. Technical AspectsCast of the Seven Godsends: Redux offers hand-drawn, colorful visuals, inspired by 16-bit stylistics.
