Game description:
Pacific Fighters is the next, after IL-2 Sturmovik and its expansions (The Forgotten Battles, The Forgotten Battles Ace Exp. Pack and Combat Over Europe), flight simulator set in the World War II period prepared by Maddox Games. Whereas, in the previous installments we fought battles over Europe, this time the authors focused on war in the Pacific. In the game you get to pilot planes of the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and the Empire of Japan, while fighting in many famous battles, including the Battle of Midway, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima. The game offers over 40 playable aircraft, e.g. F6F Hellcat, Zero fighter, Supermarine Seafire, SBD Dauntless, Aichi D3A Val, Mitsubishi G4M Betty, and B-25 Mitchell. Interestingly, for the first time in the history of the series it is possible to take off and land on aircraft carriers during combat. As you fight you often engage in vicious dogfights, dive bombing or torpedo runs. Your targets are not only enemy planes, but also ships and fleets, buildings, harbor facilities, or ground vehicles, such as tanks, trucks, and so on. The setting was recreated using greatly improved graphics engine, which was originally used in IL-2 Sturmovik. The missions are set on 16 maps, which are detailed representations of locations like Guadalcanal, Pearl Harbor or Singapore.
