Game description:
BIT.TRIP CORE, released on PC, Wii and 3DS, is the second out of the six episodes of the Gaijin studio's saga that combines arcade and musical elements. This title is a continuation of BIT.TRIP BEAT and is based on similar rules. Again, we take control of the ship led by the mysterious CommanderVideo and try to eliminate colorful squares flying to the rhythm of the background music. The plot is presented through minimalistic cut-scenes but the plot itself isn't that important. MechanicsThe whole campaign was divided into three stages, which take about fifteen minutes to complete. Unlike the previous version, this time, we only have control over the direction of the laser beam. The main hero's ship is in the middle of the screen and the squares move in all directions. Our task is to press the direction button together with the shot button at the right moment. Remotely detonated bombs that destroy everything on the screen add to the variety. With each hit, the point multiplier increases until we enter the more visually impressive Mega and Super modes. If you omit a certain number of squares, the whole image becomes black and white and we need to improve the efficiency. Otherwise, we will see the Game Over screen. Technical aspectsTraditionally for the BIT.TRIP series, the graphic design is very archaic, resembling the games from the 8-bit era. All objects consist of the smallest possible number of pixels.
