Dusty Raging Fist is a prequel to the well-received Dusty Revenge. Like the first installment, this game developed by PD Design is a beat ?em up action game. The game is available on PC / Windows, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. PlotThe story of Dusty Raging Fist is set before the events shown in Dusty Revenge. This time around, the main protagonist known from the previous installment, Dusty, is accompanied by two of his most faithful friends ? Kitsune (a vixen-assassin), and the muscular Darg (Dusty?s childhood friend). The protagonists are tasked with defeating the ancient dark forces responsible for the mysterious disappearance of children all over the fantastic realm, as well as unleashing the monsters that terrorize the natives. To complete their mission, heroes of this story have to obtain the powers of the elements that originally were wielded by the so-called Mythical Guardians. Left with no other choice, the trio embarks on a dangerous journey. On their way, they can count on the support of two of their allies ? Leo aids them in combat by bombing the enemies with artillery fire, while Snow eliminates the opponents with his sniper rifle. MechanicsAs befits any brawler, the events in Dusty Raging Fist are presented from the side perspective. During the game, one gets to explore diverse locations (picturesque outdoors, grim caves and creepy catacombs) and fight hordes of enemies. Apart from the relatively easy to defeat and smaller standard units, more powerful bosses will cross player?s path. Battles are very dynamic, and in order to succeed, a player has to skillfully switch between the character?s special abilities; the trio make use not only of the broad range of blows and ranged attacks, but also of the aforementioned powers of the elements (fire, ice, lightning, wind, earth, and darkness). All of these abilities can be combined into spectacular and powerful sequences. A player can also summon the Mythical Guardians that wreak havoc amidst the enemy forces. The game also features certain RPG elements ? during their adventures, players acquire experience points that can be spent on developing the three characters. Game modesIn the PS4, SWITCH and PC release of Raging Fist, one can play alone, or accompanied by up to two friends. The multiplayer mode enables players to join their forces and explore this colorful world either online or on split-screen. Technical aspectsDusty Raging Fist delivers high-quality 2D visuals. The developers replaced the engine, on which the first installment was based, with the Unity 3D engine.
