Disgaea Triple Collection for PS3 is a collection of three Disgaea games ? a series of tactical strategy RPGs known in the video game industry from 2003. The series is known for mixing the elements of a traditional jRPG and turn-based strategy. Similarly to its previous parts, the contents of the collection are full of peculiar humour which is a trademark of the developer, Japanese studio Nippon Ichi Software. The players will find hundreds of popculture references and jokes that refer to various movies, books, comics, anime, and fantasy movies. It should be mentioned that the games in the package are not distributed with their DLC content, as well as updates that were included in PS Vita ports. Disgaea 3: Absence of JusticeDisgaea 3: Absence of Justice was released in 2008. Mao, the main hero, is a son of Demon Lord and a student of Nether Institute, an academy for evil beings. Of course, the school rules are a complete opposite of what is seen in normal schools ?students with a lot of absences and lack of homework are considered top of the class, while those with a serious approach to their duties are considered as the worst. Mao?s biggest wish is to become more powerful than his father and taking over his title. One day, the young demon finds a manga that tells a story about a Hero, who managed to defeat the evil lord. Mao decides that if he is able to follow into the footsteps of the comic hero, he?ll be able to defeat his father. Disgaea 4: A Promise UnforgottenDisgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten was released in 2011. As always, the action of the game takes place in the Netherworld. In this installment, the players assume the role of Valvatorez, a several hundred years old vampire who was known as a merciless tyrant and a dreaded being among his subjects. As a result of a promise, he stopped drinking blood, and has fallen in hellish ranks. The woman who persuaded him to make such pledge had died not long after the event, and went to the underworld, while her soul has changed into a small being ? Prinny. When Valvatorez learns that Afterlife authorities are attempting to exterminate most of Prinnies, he decides to return to the game and stop the operation. He is joined by Fenrich, a werewolf whom he met when he worked as a prison guard. The plans to overthrow the Afterlife authorities are joined by Fuuka, a young girl who died in mysterious circumstances. Disgaea Dimension 2: A Brighter DarknessDisgaea Dimension 2: A Brighter Darkness from 2013 is a direct continuation of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness which was released in 2003 on PlayStation 2. The legendary trio: Laharl, Etna, and Flonne, a trio that become somewhat of Disgaea series? mascots, has reprised their roles as main heroes. The story begins sometime after the events of Hour of Darkness. As Laharl received the title of the lord of underworld, not all of his subjects are happy for him. Some of them created a coalition, and want to remove the new lord by force. Their actions begin to get more aggressive as the mysterious blue flowers are flowering in the underworld, creating a danger for its inhabitants.
