Nivalis is a simulation of life in a cyberpunk metropolis. The game was developed by the independent studio Ion Lands authors of the very warmly welcomed game Cloudpunk. PlotNivalis takes us on a journey to the titular, cyberpunk city, created for the purposes of the studio's previous game. The game allows us to taste life in this metropolis and try to run a thriving business. However, this is not an easy task, because not only it requires a lot of work from us, but also things are complicated by local gangs, whose lust for power and money cannot be satisfied. MechanicsRunning your own business in Nivalis starts with setting up a small stall selling food, ramen or stimulants. By preparing tasty dishes or serving unique cocktails, we'll start to attract the attention of an increasing number of customers, which will be reflected both in the number of visitors to our business and in the growing number of zeros in our account. We can spend the money we earn on buying new ingredients (although we can grow them ourselves), on various decorations for our house or a completely new flat. However, the goal should be to turn your business into something much more serious, like your own restaurant or nightclub. But to do this, we need more than just money. We are talking about the acquaintances we make by talking to the characters who visit us and learning their stories. In this way, over time we not only gain regular customers but also devoted friends. The game also allows us to freely roam the city, on foot or by flying HOVA. During breaks from business, we can indulge in fishing, looking after our crops in greenhouses near the docks or simply travelling without a goal. Variable weather conditions and a full day cycle add variety to the exploration. Technical aspectsThe graphic design of Nivalis is voxel-based and looks decent and stylish.
