Fugue: Melodies of Steel 2 is the second installment in a series of tactical RPGs originating from 2021. It was developed by CyberConnect2, the same studio as the original game, also responsible for Asura's Wrath and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. PlotFuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is set a year after the "true" ending of the first game. The war is not over yet, while the Taranis a mighty machine being the last hope of repelling the invasion of the Berman Empire went rogue and out of control. All is not yet lost, however, as the returning protagonist Malt and his companions set out on a new journey to rescue their abducted friends aboard a different tank the Tarascus. MechanicsFuga: Memories of Steel 2 is a side-scroller. The player commands a squad of children traversing the world aboard a mighty tank. Their destinations can be picked from the in-game map. While it's possible to just pick the shortest, easiest paths, detours can be lucrative although dangerous. Along the way we battle enemies in turn-based battles using the Tarascus' various armaments. The player must man the weapons with crew members, remembering each of them has individual skills and strengths that can affect the course of battle. We can also use the tank's mightiest weapon, the Managarm (the two-barrelled counterpart to the original game's Soul Cannon) and call for air support. One must also remember to exploit the enemies' weaknesses to specific weapon types. As we progress through the game, our party members form relationships with each other, while the player must make decisions that affect the story.
