Antipoles is the second, after Cosmos X2 (from 2010), game developed by the independent studio Saturnine Games. This time, the developers led by Edward Di Geronimo decided to try their hand at the genre of action platform games. PlotThe plot in Antipole plays a secondary role and is only loosely outlined. In a distant future, people are threatened with great danger from hostile robots who intend to attack the Earth. The government reaches for the last resort and hires a mercenary, Johnny Hurricane. The daredevil is given the task of getting into the mother ship of the robots and discovering their weak points. MechanicsThe action takes place inside the space vehicle filled with enemies and deadly traps. Luckily, Johnny has a unique gadget at his disposal a gravity manipulator, thanks to which he can for a moment turn the alter gravity in his immediate surroundings. The proper use of the device allows you to get to hard-to-reach places, eliminate enemies, and even avoid inevitable death (e.g. in case of a fall). As befits a 2D platformer, the game does not lack running, jumping and overcoming numerous obstacles. Some situations require the solution of a simple logic puzzle or the use of weapons. In addition, during the game, you can find coins that allow you to unlock access to bonus levels. Technical aspectsThe graphics in Antipole clearly indicates the low-budget nature of production. 2D graphics with simple animations and reduced color palette brings to mind games from the 8- and 16-bit era.
