Doom 3: VR Edition is a new edition of the third installment of the cult FPS series from id Software studio, which also created this version of the game. The game was developed for the PlayStation VR virtual reality goggles. PlotThe story featured in Doom 3: VR Edition has not changed from the original. That, in turn, was based on the plot of the first Doom, although thanks to the efforts of Matthew Costello (7th Guest, 11th Hour) it was significantly expanded. The game takes us to the distant future of 2145 and a huge research facility on Mars. As an ex-marine we start our service there, but soon we are faced with unforeseen duties. These take the form of demons who have entered Mars through a portal accidentally opened by the scientists. Closing it and stopping the infernal hordes rises to the top of your priority list on your first day on the job. MechanicsJust like the original, Doom 3: VR Edition is almost a classic FPS, enriched with a dose of horror. We explore locations and fight off demonic hordes, experiencing the story of this infernal invasion along the way. We learn about it, among others, through conversations with NPCs. A rich arsenal was put at our disposal, consisting of both typical pieces (rifles, machine guns, etc.) and more futuristic toys, with the iconic BFG 9000 at the forefront. All this has been adjusted to the controls and possibilities of virtual reality technology. So, for example, we can make an instant 180-degree turn to surprise an enemy creeping towards us. Technical aspectsDoom 3: VR Edition requires a PlayStation VR virtual reality headset to play.
