Game description:
SkateBIRD is a humorous arcade game dedicated to skateboarding that treats it with a pinch of salt. The game was developed by the independent studio Glass Bottom Games, and was created, among other things, thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. PlotThe main character of the game is the title bird, whose owners are wasted on a poorly paid job; to top it all off, they are almost never at home to play with their winged friend. The protagonist decides to take matters into his own wings and start skateboarding. By improving our skills, our bird skater gains increasingly larger group of fans, so that the world of bird skateboarding gradually opens itself before the protagonist, and the situation of its human companions begins to improve. MechanicsIn SkateBIRD the action was shown from TPP. The game takes place on extensive levels that are unusual skateparks. Unusual, because of the small size of our bird competitor, we also skateboard in places such as the bedroom or office. Each location is full of ramps on which we can perform spectacular tricks or even barriers waiting to be grinded. Our actions are assessed by a scoring system on an ongoing basis, and in order to achieve high scores, we have to combine individual tricks into long combos. In addition, during the game we meet other birds with different tasks for us. Their completion is also important, as they give unlock access to new skateparks. It should be noted that if we want to make progress, we do not have to perform all the tasks waiting on the map. The tasks are varied, and among them we can find both those that consist of scoring a certain number of points, as well as those in which we need to recover a lost item (usually waiting in some extremely difficult to reach place). In addition, it is worth to look into every corner of the skatepark, because this way we can unlock access to secret areas or find carefully hidden items, such as clothing and skateboards for our competitor or audio cassettes containing new songs. Technical aspectsSkateBIRD is powered by Unreal Engine 4 technology and features pleasant graphics. The environment is detailed and the animal we control behaves realistically.
