Funky Barn 3D is a Ubisoft company's response to the growing popularity of farming sims, and time management games. However, the developers from Tantalus studio approached the matter with a large dose of humor. The game is set in a seemingly quiet countryside. The main campaign lets you play as a farmer who is trying to take his small farm to prosperity. But it is not easy, since there is really a lot of work on a farm, and animals are often rebellious. To make matters worse, every now and then aliens fly over or the livestock gets taken by a whirlwind. The game is based on simple rules. Plants must be grown and animals bred, then subjected to a special treatment (e.g. packed in boxes or shaved). Then you need to sell the product and spent thus earned money on new buildings, extra equipment, or expand your livestock. At the same time you have to provide access to water, avoid pollution, and keep an eye on the budget. Since everything happens in real time, you need to keep a watchful eye on the farm and quickly respond to new situations. The game is kept in a humorous atmosphere, which is made shown, e.g. by crazy machines (the device for shearing sheep, the egg collector, etc.), awry buildings and structures, hilariously-looking animals and interactions between them (e.g. the cows love to play with pigs, and even a fence cannot stop them from doing that). The controls system in Funky Barn 3D uses technological capabilities of Nintendo 3DS, including touchscreen and gyroscope. Players can thus shake a fruit tree or pick up a sheep and put it into the ?shaver?. Social features allow you to interact with your friends. You can trade with them, but also create storms and tornadoes over their farms. The game?s visuals use simple object and models, but it also has vibrant colors.
