Decadent is an FPS with horror elements, set in a universe inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The production was developed by Incantation Games studio. The plotThe action of Decadent is set in an alternate version of the 1920s. The main protagonist of the game is John Lorn, that is, a royal explorer, a World War I veteran and also an occultist, in whose body a mysterious parasite has taken root. Following the trail of the lost expedition of Miskatonic University, the protagonist ends up in the Arctic, where he tries to find his son. On the spot he comes to face dangers not from this world, which will put both his survival skills and the strength of his mind to the test. The adventure takes us through a variety of locations from tundra, glaciers and high cliffs, to undergrounds bathed in darkness, ancient necropolises and ancient mounds. In addition, from time to time we come across places suspended between dimensions that are remnants of ancient experiments. While traversing them, we face numerous dangers; on our way there are aggressive people (members of hostile mountain tribes), as well as creatures such as hybrid water creatures and other terrifying beings. We eliminate the enemies using a rich arsenal, including both conventional pistols and rifles, as well as more sophisticated weapons with magical and occult properties. Facing dangers, we must pay attention not only to the protagonist's health, but also to his mental condition. For when the latter begins to deteriorate, he may experience hallucinations or panic attacks.
