Blood-thirsty monsters who once were the inhabitants of the islands are the greatest threat. The battles take place in real-time and are action-based. Crafting system that enables the player to construct more than one hundred different items is very helpful in surviving. A dynamical day and night system is important during the game as well. The alternative reality features many abandoned villages and research centers that enable the player to discover what really happened.
