Game description:
The TakeOver is a beat' em up game from Pelikan13. During the creation of the title, the producers were inspired by such iconic games as Streets of Rage and Final Fight. This is not the studio's first approach to recreate the spirit of the games from the 1990s in a newer edition. Developers have already made such an attempt by creating a racing game called The 90's Arcade Racer, the development of which has been canceled. PlotCrime is spreading across the city. The gangsters responsible for this situation are intimidating the local police. To subjugate Ethan, one of the toughest officers in the force, the bandits kidnap his daughter Vanessa. The kidnappers don't expect Ethan to give up, however, and the policeman calls his friends and sets off on a private vendetta. MechanicsThe TakeOver is a brawler, a side-view game that consists of moving through 2D maps and taking down incoming enemies. The combat is based on combo mechanics. Combining fist attacks and kicks, the player has the ability to knock down enemies, stun them and even throw or blow them up. Continuing aour barrage of strikes of sufficient amount of time charges the special attack bar (Super meter). However, fists and legs are not the only available form of defense. During the game players have a chance to find weapons such as crowbars, swords and machine guns. Each character also has a unique firearm, but ammunition is rare, so we need to use it in moderation. Game modesThe TakeOver is a game for solo players or for two in the couch co-op mode. Technical aspectsGraphics combine pre-rendered sprites and detailed backgrounds in 1080p and higher resolution. The story itself is presented by means of cut-scenes adopting comic book-like atmosphere. Soundtrack is dynamic and matches the character of the gameplay. It was co-created by several artists: Little V Mills, Richie Branson, James Ronald, and the composer of the music for the Streets of Rage series Yuzo Koshiro. Last updated on 22 November 2019
