Game description:
Polygod is an old-school FPS with added roguelike features. It has been developed by an independent team from South Africa called Krafted Games. PlotThe main hero of the Polygod is a?one-handed Faceless One, the last of legendary assassins. The protagonist must prove his worth by participating in battles called Trials of Gods and defeating Holy Champions at the end of them. Game mechanicsAs per the genre?s rules, Polygod uses a?first-person perspective (FPP). Battles take place on procedurally generated arenas, and we have only one try to defeat enemies due to the implementation of permadeath. If we fail, we have to start all over again and face new challenges. The game focuses on eliminating everything we see, specifically thirty-five types of basic enemies and fourteen bosses (seven Holy Champions and seven more challenging Red Holy Champions). This earns us souls which act as in-game currency. There are five altars on each stage where we can buy various blessings of five gods. These can modify characteristics of our weapon. Since we can have more than one blessing active at the same time, we can try various tactics ? e.g. shooting many projectiles that travel with the speed of light and act as proximity mines. Additionally, progressing through the game allows us unlock more characters to play, for a?total of fifteen playable heroes. Game modesPolygod can be played by ourselves, in a?multiplayer cooperation (both local and online) or as a?competition against other players (although Nintendo Switch console features only split-screen multiplayer).
